If you absolutely MUST stay in Chungking Mansions (and I don't recommend it), then this hostel is the one you should stay at. Simon, the owner who lives in the hotel, is a great and friendly host. Adorable and accomodating, always ready to help. He keeps the rooms very clean and provides shampoo, conditioner, and soap. It is definitely worth the value of the money for an expensive city like Hong Kong.
Chungking Mansions is in a great location, perfect actually, but full of seedy drug dealers, prostitutes, and touts. I would not stay here alone as a woman, I only felt comfortable because my husband was with me. In addition it's like a death trap if there is a fire because there is no fire escape and no where to go. However it's very cheap, and having stayed in other hostels in Chungking Mansions, I can confidently say STAY WITH SIMON!
